Whether you’re cooking for a quick weeknight dinner, prepping meals ahead of time, or making something satisfying for friends, these wraps deliver every time. With juicy seasoned beef, fresh toppings, and soft tortillas, each bite is hearty and delicious.

Here’s a detailed, step-by-step guide to making perfect tortilla wraps with ground beef at home.

Ingredients

For the Ground Beef Filling:

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder (optional for spice)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste or sauce
  • ¼ cup water

For the Wrap Assembly:

  • 4–6 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • ½ cup sour cream or yogurt
  • Optional: sliced avocado, pickles, or hot sauce

Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients

Start by chopping the onion, mincing the garlic, and preparing your vegetables. Having everything ready makes cooking smoother and faster.

Step 2: Cook the Ground Beef

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, add the chopped onion and cook for about 2–3 minutes until soft and slightly golden.

Add the minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add the ground beef. Break it apart using a spatula and cook until browned evenly, about 5–7 minutes.

Step 3: Season the Meat

Once the beef is fully cooked, drain excess fat if needed. Then add:

  • Paprika
  • Cumin
  • Chili powder (if using)
  • Salt and pepper

Stir well so the spices coat the meat evenly.

Step 4: Add Sauce and Simmer

Mix in the tomato paste or sauce along with the water. Stir everything together and let it simmer on low heat for 5–8 minutes. This helps the flavors blend and gives the beef a slightly saucy texture.

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
