Decadent Layered Chocolate Cake with Creamy Filling & Rich Ganache

Ingredients

For the Chocolate Cake:

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

  • 3/4 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 tsp instant coffee granules

  • 1/2 cup baking soda mixed with brewed coffee

  • 1 cup brewed coffee (with sugar, if desired)

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp boiling water

For the Cream Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 tsp powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Ganache:

  • 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • (Optional) A touch of buttercream for added shine

Optional White Chocolate or Vanilla Glaze:

  • 1/2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2–3 tbsp heavy cream

  • 4 oz white chocolate, melted and cooled
