How to Roast a Turkey in a Plastic Oven Bag

Season the Turkey:

Rub the turkey with softened butter and olive oil. Then, sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary, making sure to coat evenly.

Stuff the Turkey:

Fill the cavity with chopped onion, garlic, carrots, and celery.

Prepare the Bag:

Sprinkle flour inside the oven bag and shake it to coat. This helps prevent the bag from bursting during cooking.

Transfer the Turkey to the Bag:

Place the seasoned turkey inside the bag and secure it.

Seal and Vent the Bag:

Seal the bag with the provided tie, then cut 4–5 small slits in the top to allow steam to escape.

Roast the Turkey:

Place the turkey in a roasting pan and put it in the preheated oven. Roast for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until the internal temperature in the thickest part of the thigh reaches 165°F (74°C).

Rest the Turkey:

Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest in the bag for 15–20 minutes to allow the juices to settle.

Serve:

Carefully open the bag, transfer the turkey to a serving platter, and carve. Enjoy your juicy, delicious roast turkey!

Your roasted turkey will be tender, flavorful, and perfect for any celebration!
