Step-by-Step Method

Step 1: Prepare the Peas

Bring a small pot of water to a boil, add the peas, and cook for about 3–5 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.


Step 2: Make the Cream Sauce

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the flour and whisk continuously to form a smooth paste (this is called a roux). Cook for about 1–2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste, but do not let it brown.

Slowly pour in the milk while whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens into a smooth, creamy sauce. This usually takes about 3–5 minutes.
