- 1 pound (450 g) smoked sausage, sliced into rounds

- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Step-by-Step Method
Step 1: Prepare the Oven and Baking Dish
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a medium-sized casserole dish to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier later.
Step 2: Slice the Ingredients
Wash and peel the potatoes if desired, then slice them into thin rounds. Thin slices help the potatoes cook evenly and become tender.
Slice the smoked sausage into bite-sized rounds and cut the onion into thin strips.
