Banana Pudding Rice Krispie Treats

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Base

  • Start by preparing a large mixing bowl with your 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal.
  • In a separate medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.
  • Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until they are completely melted and smooth.

2. Mix in the Banana Flavor

  • With the marshmallow mixture still warm, pour in the banana pudding mix. Stir until fully combined, and the marshmallow mixture takes on a lovely banana flavor.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately pour the mixture over the Rice Krispies in your large mixing bowl.
  • Gently mix everything together until the Rice Krispies are fully coated with the banana-flavored marshmallow mixture.

3. Shape the Treats

  • Grease a 9×13-inch pan or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Pour the Rice Krispie mixture into the prepared pan and use a spatula to press it down evenly. Make sure the mixture is compacted to form a solid layer of treats.

4. Add the Creamy Layers

  • Spread a generous layer of whipped topping or whipped cream over the entire surface of the Rice Krispie layer. For extra flavor, you can add a tablespoon of vanilla extract to the whipped cream for a sweet boost.
  • Arrange freshly sliced bananas on top of the whipped layer, covering the entire surface. The bananas will add a fresh, fruity touch that complements the creamy topping.

5. Garnish and Serve

  • Garnish the top with additional banana slices if desired, and refrigerate the treats for about 30 minutes to allow everything to set.
  • Once firm, slice the treats into squares and enjoy!

Tips for Success:

  • Banana Freshness: Make sure to use ripe bananas for maximum flavor. If you want to prevent the bananas from browning too quickly, lightly brush the slices with lemon juice before layering them.
  • Pudding Variety: If you’re looking for a twist, try using vanilla pudding instead of banana for a more subtle flavor.
  • Whipped Topping: Feel free to substitute the whipped topping with cream cheese frosting for an even richer experience.
