Cheeseburger Biscuit Cups: A Simple, Savory Comfort Food Recipe

Cheeseburger Biscuit Cups are a fun, handheld twist on a classic cheeseburger. Instead of a bun, the filling is tucked inside soft baked biscuit dough and baked in a muffin tin until golden. The result is a cheesy, meaty bite-sized meal that works well for snacks, lunches, or casual dinners.

They’re also very customizable, quick to prepare, and require only basic ingredients—making them a great option when you want something hearty without a complicated cooking process.

Ingredients You’ll Need

To make about 8–10 biscuit cups:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8–10 biscuits)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1–2 tablespoons ketchup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing the muffin tin

Optional toppings:

  • Pickles, diced
  • Sesame seeds
  • Extra cheese

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Preheat and prepare your pan

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or oil. This helps prevent sticking and ensures the biscuit cups come out clean.

2. Cook the beef filling

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned. Break it apart as it cooks so it stays crumbly and even.

If using onions, add them while cooking so they soften and blend into the meat.

Once fully cooked, drain any excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, and optional ketchup or mustard for a classic cheeseburger flavor.

3. Prepare the biscuit base

Open your biscuit dough and separate each piece. Flatten each biscuit gently with your hands or a rolling pin until it forms a small circle large enough to line a muffin cup.

Press each piece into the muffin tin, forming a cup shape. Make sure the dough comes up the sides to hold the filling.
