Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese slices cut into pieces)

For the Dough:

  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough
OR homemade dough (see optional method below)

For Finishing:

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for burger-style topping)

Step-by-Step Method

Step 1: Prepare the Cheeseburger Filling

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  3. Once it begins to brown, add the diced onion.
  4. Cook until the beef is fully browned and onions are soft.
  5. Stir in garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
  6. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  7. Add ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  8. Stir well and let the mixture cool slightly.

Important: Allowing the mixture to cool prevents the dough from becoming soggy.

Step 2: Prepare the Dough

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface.
  4. Cut into rectangles or circles (about 4–5 inches wide).

You should get about 6–8 pockets depending on size.
