Cheeseburger Potato Soup
When you’re craving a classic cheeseburger but want something warm and comforting, Cheeseburger Potato Soup brings those familiar flavors together in one creamy bowl. It combines seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, onions, and carrots in a rich, cheesy broth. The result is hearty enough for dinner while still having the cozy, homemade character of a traditional soup.
What makes this soup especially satisfying is the balance of textures. The potatoes become soft and tender, the beef adds savory richness, and the melted cheddar creates a creamy finish without overpowering the other ingredients. A few simple burger-inspired toppings can make each bowl even more delicious.

How to Make Cheeseburger Potato Soup
Step 1: Brown the Ground Beef
Place a large heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook for about 6–8 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it browns.
Continue cooking until the beef is no longer pink and has developed some browned edges. If there is a large amount of excess grease, carefully drain most of it, leaving a little behind for flavor.
Transfer the beef to a bowl and set it aside temporarily.
Step 2: Sauté the Aromatics
Add the olive oil or butter to the same pot if needed. Stir in the diced onion and carrots.
Cook for approximately 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion becomes translucent and the carrots begin to soften.
Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30–60 seconds, just until fragrant. Avoid cooking the garlic too long because it can become bitter.
