Cheesy Hamburger Potato Casserole 🧀🥔

Instructions

1. Prep the Oven & Dish
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

2. Cook the Beef & Onion
In a large skillet, sauté the diced onion with the ground beef until the meat is fully cooked. Drain excess fat if needed.

3. Slice the Potatoes
Peel and slice the potatoes about ¼ inch thick.

4. Layer the Casserole

  • Place a layer of potato slices on the bottom of the baking dish and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  • Spread about â…“ of the cooked beef and onion mixture over the potatoes.

  • Top with â…“ of the shredded Cheddar cheese.

  • Repeat the layers two more times, ending with the remaining cheese on top.

5. Add the Cheese Soup Mixture
In a bowl, whisk together the Cheddar cheese soup mix, evaporated milk, and regular milk. Add a pinch of salt and pepper if desired. Pour evenly over the layered casserole.

6. Bake the Casserole
Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes to get a golden, bubbly cheese topping. If your potato slices are thicker, bake a little longer until tender.

7. Serve & Enjoy
Let the casserole cool slightly before serving. Perfect for dinner with family or even as a brunch dish during holidays!

✨ Tip: Make it ahead of time and simply reheat—it tastes just as delicious the next day!
