Cinnamon Swirl Apple Fritter Bread

Few things are as comforting as the warm aroma of cinnamon and apples filling the kitchen. Cinnamon Swirl Apple Fritter Bread combines the flavors of a classic apple fritter with the soft, moist texture of homemade quick bread. Every slice features tender apples, ribbons of cinnamon sugar, and a sweet glaze that melts beautifully into the loaf. It’s perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy afternoon treat with tea or coffee.

This recipe is simple to prepare and doesn’t require any special baking skills. By layering apple filling and cinnamon sugar throughout the batter, you create a beautiful swirl and bursts of flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

For the Apple Filling

  • 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Cinnamon Swirl

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Bread Batter

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk

For the Glaze

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk or cream

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Apples

Start by peeling and chopping the apples into small bite-sized cubes. Smaller pieces distribute better throughout the bread and soften nicely during baking.

Place the chopped apples in a bowl and toss them with the granulated sugar and cinnamon. This step lightly sweetens the fruit and helps draw out its natural juices. Set the mixture aside while preparing the batter.

Step 2: Make the Cinnamon Swirl Mixture

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir until evenly blended. This mixture will create the delicious cinnamon ribbons that mimic the flavor of apple fritters.

Set this aside for layering later.
