Creamy Garlic Parmesan Baked Pork Tenderloin

Creamy Garlic Parmesan Baked Pork Tenderloin is the kind of dinner that feels special without requiring complicated preparation. Tender pork is seasoned generously, seared until beautifully golden, and finished in the oven beneath a rich garlic Parmesan cream sauce. The result is juicy pork with a savory, velvety coating that pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, rice, or crusty bread.

The combination of garlic, Parmesan, herbs, and cream creates a comforting sauce that complements the mild flavor of pork without overwhelming it. Baking everything together also allows the flavors to blend while keeping the pork moist and tender.

Ingredients

For the Pork

  • 1 1/2 pounds pork tenderloin
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

For the Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional

Step 1: Prepare the Pork Tenderloin

Begin by removing the pork tenderloin from its packaging and patting it thoroughly dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture helps the outside brown properly instead of steaming in the pan.

If the tenderloin has a visible silver membrane, carefully trim it away with a sharp knife while leaving as much of the meat intact as possible.

In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, paprika, and garlic powder. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over every side of the pork.

Let the seasoned pork rest at room temperature for about 10 to 15 minutes while you prepare the skillet.

Step 2: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

If you are using a skillet that can safely go from the stovetop to the oven, use that same skillet for the entire recipe. A cast-iron or other oven-safe skillet works particularly well.

Using one pan not only makes cleanup easier but also allows the browned bits left behind by the pork to become part of the creamy sauce.

Step 3: Sear the Pork

Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.

Once the oil is hot, place the seasoned pork tenderloin in the skillet. Sear it for approximately 2 to 3 minutes per side, turning it carefully so that several sides develop a deep golden-brown crust.

The pork does not need to be fully cooked at this stage. The purpose of searing is to develop color and flavor before the tenderloin finishes cooking in the oven.

Once browned, transfer the pork temporarily to a plate.

Step 4: Build the Garlic Parmesan Sauce

Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter to the same skillet.

Once the butter melts, add the minced garlic. Cook for about 30 to 60 seconds, stirring frequently, until the garlic becomes fragrant.

Be careful not to let the garlic turn dark brown because it can develop a bitter flavor.

Pour in the chicken broth and use a wooden spoon or spatula to scrape the browned pieces from the bottom of the skillet. These caramelized bits add extra depth to the sauce.

Allow the broth to simmer for about 1 to 2 minutes.

Step 5: Add the Cream and Seasonings

Slowly pour the heavy cream into the skillet while stirring.

Add the Italian seasoning, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir everything together and let the sauce gently simmer for approximately 2 minutes.

Avoid boiling the cream aggressively. A gentle simmer helps create a smooth sauce.
