Creamy Pasta Dish: A Comforting Classic Made Simple
There’s something timeless about a creamy pasta dish. It’s rich, satisfying, and incredibly versatile—perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or an impressive meal for guests. This recipe focuses on building a smooth, flavorful cream sauce that clings beautifully to every strand or piece of pasta, creating a dish that feels indulgent without being overly complicated.
Ingredients
For the pasta:
- 250g pasta (fettuccine, penne, or spaghetti work well)
- Water (for boiling)
- Salt
For the creamy sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic (finely minced)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- Optional: cooked chicken, mushrooms, or spinach
Step-by-Step Method
1. Boil the Pasta
Start by bringing a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Add a generous pinch of salt—this is essential for flavoring the pasta from within.
Add your pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente (tender but slightly firm when bitten).
Before draining, reserve about ½ cup of the pasta cooking water. Then drain the pasta and set it aside.
2. Prepare the Flavor Base
In a large pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
Be careful not to burn the garlic—it should smell rich and inviting, not bitter.
