Creamy Pineapple Fluff

Creamy Pineapple Fluff is one of those easy dessert salads that feels like the perfect combination of creamy, fruity, and refreshing. Made with crushed pineapple, fluffy whipped topping, and a few simple ingredients, this no-bake dessert comes together quickly and requires very little preparation. Its light texture and bright pineapple flavor make it especially appealing for potlucks, family gatherings, holidays, and warm-weather celebrations.

The best part is that Creamy Pineapple Fluff can be prepared ahead of time. After a short rest in the refrigerator, the flavors blend together while the mixture becomes even more delicious and creamy.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts, optional
  • ½ cup maraschino cherries, chopped, optional
  • Extra cherries or coconut for garnish, optional

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prepare the Pineapple

Begin by opening the can of crushed pineapple. For this recipe, keep the pineapple and its juice together rather than draining it. The liquid is important because it helps dissolve the pudding mix and creates the creamy consistency of the dessert.

Pour the entire can of crushed pineapple into a large mixing bowl.

2. Add the Pudding Mix

Sprinkle the instant vanilla pudding mix directly over the crushed pineapple. Using a spatula or wooden spoon, stir everything together until the pudding powder is thoroughly incorporated.

Continue mixing for about 1 to 2 minutes. The mixture will begin to thicken as the pudding absorbs some of the pineapple juice.

Let it stand for a couple of minutes before moving on to the next step.

3. Fold in the Whipped Topping

Add the thawed whipped topping to the pineapple mixture.

Instead of vigorously stirring, gently fold the whipped topping into the pineapple and pudding mixture. Folding helps preserve the airy texture of the whipped topping, which gives the finished dessert its characteristic fluffy consistency.

Continue folding until the mixture looks smooth and evenly combined.
