Don’t toss out those lemon seeds after juicing! Lemon seeds offer surprising ways to make the most of this wonderful fruit.
Here’s how you can put them to good use:
Grow Your Own Lemon Tree
Save and Prepare the Seeds
After squeezing a lemon, set the seeds aside and rinse them well in room-temperature water. Lay them on a paper towel and let them dry completely. Once dry, use tweezers to carefully peel off the outer layer.
Germinate the Seeds
Place the cleaned seed in a small container (like a yogurt cup) filled with moist cotton. Keep the cotton damp and wait about a week for the seed to sprout. Once it grows small roots, transfer the sprouted seed to a small pot with well-draining soil and perlite.
