Step-by-Step Method

Step 1: Prepare the Cabbage

Start by removing any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. Cut it in half through the core, then slice out the tough core section. Place the halves flat-side down and chop into bite-sized strips or chunks. Rinse under cold water and drain well.

Set aside while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.


Step 2: Brown the Ground Beef

Heat a large skillet or deep sauté pan over medium heat. Add the ground beef and break it apart using a wooden spoon or spatula.

Cook for about 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully browned and no longer pink. If there is excess grease, carefully drain it, leaving just a small amount for flavor.

If your beef is lean and the pan looks dry, add a small drizzle of olive oil.


Step 3: Add Aromatics

Add the diced onion directly to the browned beef. Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened and translucent.
