How to Cook Rice Like They Do in Hotels

 

Ingredients:

1 cup long-grain rice

2 tablespoons butter or oil

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

2 cups broth (or water)

1 bay leaf

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

Rinse the rice under cold water until it runs clear.

In a pan, melt butter or heat oil. Sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant.

Add the rice and cook until it becomes slightly translucent.

Pour in the broth, add the bay leaf, and season with salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and let simmer for 18-20 minutes.

Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 10 minutes.

Fluff with a fork, serve, and enjoy your perfectly cooked rice!
