Polish Sausage, Sauerkraut, and Potatoes (Crockpot Recipe)

 

Instructions

  1. Layer the Ingredients

    • Place sauerkraut in the bottom of the crockpot.

    • Top with potato chunks, then layer sausage pieces over the potatoes.

  2. Prepare the Broth

    • In a small bowl, mix chicken broth with caraway seeds and bay leaf.

    • Pour evenly over the sausage, potatoes, and sauerkraut.

    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Slow Cook

    • Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours (or on LOW for 7–8 hours) until potatoes are tender and flavors are well combined.

  4. Serve

    • Stir gently before serving.

    • Enjoy hot, straight from the crockpot!

  • Extra flavor: Add 1–2 sliced onions or a few minced garlic cloves to the mix.

  • Richer broth: Swap chicken broth for beef broth or add ½ cup of beer for a deeper flavor.
