3-Ingredient Pan-Fried Halloumi: A Simple, Golden Mediterranean Delight

You only need three ingredients:

  • 1 block (about 200–250 g) **Halloumi cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Step-by-Step Method

Step 1: Prepare the Halloumi

Remove the halloumi from its packaging and pat it dry with paper towels. This step helps the cheese fry properly and prevents excess moisture from causing splattering in the pan.

Next, place the cheese on a cutting board and slice it into thick pieces about 1–1.5 cm (½ inch) thick. Thick slices help the cheese stay soft in the center while forming a crisp outer layer.


Step 2: Heat the Pan

Place a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Add the tablespoon of Olive oil and allow it to warm up for about 30 seconds.

The oil should shimmer slightly but not smoke. Proper heat ensures the cheese browns evenly without burning.
