Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a baking pan.

  2. Whisk dry ingredients: In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

  3. Cream butter & sugar: In another bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in the eggs and vanilla.

  4. Combine mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk until smooth.

  5. Fold in the apples (and nuts if using) for bursts of flavor and crunch.

  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
