Beef and Mushroom Crescent Cups
A savory, flaky appetizer that’s simple, satisfying, and perfect for any occasion
Beef and Mushroom Crescent Cups combine buttery crescent dough with a rich, savory filling of seasoned beef and earthy mushrooms. They’re ideal as party appetizers, quick snacks, or even a light meal when paired with a salad. What makes them especially appealing is how easy they are to prepare while still looking impressive and tasting gourmet.
Ingredients
For the filling:
- 250 g ground beef
- 1 cup mushrooms (finely chopped)
- 1 small onion (finely diced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese (for richness)
- ¼ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella works well)
For the cups:
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 tablespoon melted butter (optional, for brushing)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Step-by-Step Method
Step 1: Prepare the Filling
Start by heating the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for about 2–3 minutes until it becomes soft and translucent. Stir in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the ground beef to the pan. Break it apart with a spoon and cook until browned and no longer pink. This should take around 5–7 minutes.
Step 2: Add Mushrooms and Seasoning
Once the beef is cooked, stir in the chopped mushrooms. Cook for another 4–5 minutes until the mushrooms release their moisture and it evaporates.
Season the mixture with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
