Slow Cooker Peach Cobbler — A Cozy, Easy Dessert Made Effortless

Slow Cooker Peach Cobbler is one of those desserts that feels nostalgic, warm, and comforting—like something your grandmother might have made, but without spending hours in the kitchen. Using a slow cooker transforms a classic baked dessert into a hands-off recipe that still delivers soft, juicy peaches topped with a golden, cake-like crust.

This version is especially great when you want dessert ready for dinner, a gathering, or even a lazy weekend treat without turning on the oven.

What Is Peach Cobbler?

Peach Cobbler is a traditional dessert made with sweetened peaches baked under a biscuit-like or cake-like topping. In the slow cooker version, the same idea applies—but instead of oven baking, everything gently cooks over several hours, allowing the flavors to deepen and the peaches to become syrupy and rich.

Ingredients You’ll Need

For the peach filling:

  • 4–5 cups sliced peaches (fresh, frozen, or canned, drained)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (adjust depending on sweetness of peaches)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for thickening, optional)

For the cobbler topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Step-by-Step Method

Step 1: Prepare the peaches

Start by placing your sliced peaches into the slow cooker. If you’re using canned peaches, drain them well to avoid excess liquid.

Add sugar, lemon juice, vanilla, cinnamon, and cornstarch. Stir everything gently so the peaches are evenly coated. The cornstarch helps create that thick, syrupy cobbler base as it cooks.

Step 2: Let the filling begin to warm

Cover the slow cooker and cook the peach mixture on HIGH for 30–40 minutes (or LOW for about 1 hour).
This step helps the peaches release their juices and start forming a flavorful sauce before the topping is added.
