Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and chicken broth or water. Set this sauce mixture aside.
- In another small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. This will help thicken the sauce later on.
- Cook the Chicken
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken pieces in a single layer.
- Cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes, or until it’s fully cooked and no longer pink in the center. Stir frequently to ensure even cooking. Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
- Stir Fry the Broccoli
- In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed, and then add the broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp. You want the broccoli to retain some crunch, so avoid overcooking it.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet with the broccoli, and stir-fry for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Combine and Finish
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and broccoli, and stir everything together.
- Give the cornstarch slurry a quick stir and add it to the skillet. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and broccoli evenly.
- If using, drizzle the sesame oil over the stir fry for added flavor.
- Serve and Garnish
- Transfer the Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry to a serving dish. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
- Serve the stir fry hot, over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
Tips for Perfect Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry
- Chicken Choice: If you prefer, you can use boneless, skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier result.
- Vegetable Variety: While broccoli is a classic choice, feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers, snow peas, or carrots for extra color and nutrition.
- Make It Spicy: If you enjoy a bit of heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a splash of Sriracha to the sauce for a spicy kick.
ENJOY IT 💛
