Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry Recipe: A Quick and Healthy Dinner

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and chicken broth or water. Set this sauce mixture aside.
    • In another small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. This will help thicken the sauce later on.
  2. Cook the Chicken
    • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken pieces in a single layer.
    • Cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes, or until it’s fully cooked and no longer pink in the center. Stir frequently to ensure even cooking. Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
  3. Stir Fry the Broccoli
    • In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed, and then add the broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp. You want the broccoli to retain some crunch, so avoid overcooking it.
    • Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet with the broccoli, and stir-fry for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Combine and Finish
    • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and broccoli, and stir everything together.
    • Give the cornstarch slurry a quick stir and add it to the skillet. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and broccoli evenly.
    • If using, drizzle the sesame oil over the stir fry for added flavor.
  5. Serve and Garnish
    • Transfer the Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry to a serving dish. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
    • Serve the stir fry hot, over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.

Tips for Perfect Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry

  • Chicken Choice: If you prefer, you can use boneless, skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier result.
  • Vegetable Variety: While broccoli is a classic choice, feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers, snow peas, or carrots for extra color and nutrition.
  • Make It Spicy: If you enjoy a bit of heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a splash of Sriracha to the sauce for a spicy kick.

ENJOY IT 💛
