Cream Cheese Stuffed Celery Boats: A Crisp, Creamy Snack Recipe
Cream Cheese Stuffed Celery Boats are a refreshing, crunchy, and creamy appetizer made with crisp celery sticks filled with seasoned cream cheese. They are easy to prepare, colorful, and perfect for parties, lunch boxes, holiday trays, or quick snacks.
This recipe is simple, but it can be made in many different ways. The celery gives a fresh crunch, while the cream cheese filling adds richness and flavor. You can keep it classic with herbs and garlic or make it more exciting with bacon, cheddar, ranch seasoning, nuts, or spices.
Ingredients
For the Celery Boats
- 8 to 10 celery stalks
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup sour cream or mayonnaise
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
Optional Toppings
- Crispy bacon bits
- Chopped pecans or walnuts
- Paprika
- Everything bagel seasoning
- Ranch seasoning
- Chopped chives
- Crushed crackers
Step 1: Wash and Trim the Celery
Rinse the celery stalks well under cold water.
Trim off the ends and remove any tough strings if needed. Pat the celery completely dry with paper towels.
Dry celery is important because the filling sticks better and does not become watery.
Step 2: Cut the Celery into Boats
Cut each celery stalk into smaller pieces, about 3 to 4 inches long.
These pieces should look like small boats with a natural hollow center for the filling.
Choose celery stalks that are firm and crisp. Soft celery will not hold the filling as well.
