Why Make Homemade Cheese?

Healthier & Fresher – No preservatives or artificial additives.
Customizable – Control the texture, saltiness, and flavors.
Budget-Friendly – Cheaper than store-bought cheese.
Fun & Rewarding – A great DIY project with delicious results!

Ingredients for Basic Homemade Cheese

1 liter (4 cups) whole milk (cow’s milk or goat’s milk)
2 tbsp lemon juice or white vinegar
½ tsp salt (optional)
Herbs or spices for flavoring (optional)

📌 Note: Use fresh, full-fat milk for the best results. Avoid ultra-pasteurized milk, as it won’t curdle properly.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Heat the Milk

1️⃣ Pour the milk into a large pot and heat over medium-low heat.
2️⃣ Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
3️⃣ Heat the milk to about 85–90°C (185–195°F). Do not boil!

📌 Tip: If you don’t have a thermometer, watch for steam rising and tiny bubbles forming at the edges.
