Southern 3-Ingredient Honey Glazed Carrots (Simple, Sweet & Comforting)

Southern-style cooking is all about turning simple ingredients into something warm, rich, and deeply comforting. These 3-Ingredient Honey Glazed Carrots are the perfect example—sweet, buttery, and glossy carrots that taste like they took way more effort than they actually did.

With just carrots, honey, and butter, you get a side dish that works for weeknight dinners, holiday tables, or even meal prep when you want something a little special without extra work.

🥕 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 lb (about 450 g) fresh carrots
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey

(Optional but not required: pinch of salt or black pepper for balance)

🍯 Step-by-Step Method

Step 1: Prepare the carrots

Start by washing and peeling your carrots.

  • Slice them into even rounds (about ¼ inch thick) so they cook evenly
  • You can also cut them diagonally for a more “restaurant-style” look
  • If your carrots are thin or baby carrots, you can leave them whole

Even cutting is important because it ensures all pieces become tender at the same time.

Step 2: Cook the carrots until tender

Place the carrots in a medium saucepan and cover them with water.

  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat
  • Reduce to a simmer and cook for about 6–10 minutes
  • The goal is “fork-tender” — soft enough to pierce easily, but not mushy

Once done, drain the carrots and set them aside.
