Sticky Glazed BBQ Beef Rib Rolls
A rich, smoky, finger-licking recipe that turns tender beef ribs into irresistible rolls coated in a glossy BBQ glaze.
Introduction
Sticky Glazed BBQ Beef Rib Rolls are the kind of dish that instantly grabs attention—juicy, slow-cooked beef wrapped into soft rolls and finished with a thick, caramelized barbecue glaze. This recipe combines deep, smoky flavors with a slightly sweet and tangy finish, making it perfect for casual dinners, gatherings, or whenever you want something indulgent and satisfying.
The key to this dish lies in slow-cooking the ribs until they’re fall-apart tender, then layering them into rolls and brushing them with a sticky glaze before a final bake.
Ingredients
For the Beef Ribs:
- 1.5–2 kg beef ribs
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the BBQ Glaze:
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
For the Rolls:
- 8–10 soft sandwich rolls or brioche buns
- 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Step-by-Step Method
Step 1: Prepare the Ribs
Start by patting the beef ribs dry using paper towels. This helps the seasoning stick better.
In a small bowl, mix salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this spice mixture evenly over the ribs, making sure every surface is well coated. Drizzle olive oil over the ribs to lock in moisture.
Step 2: Slow Cook the Ribs
You can cook the ribs using either an oven or a slow cooker:
Oven Method:
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
- Wrap the ribs tightly in foil and place them on a baking tray.
- Cook for 2.5 to 3 hours until the meat becomes very tender and easily pulls away from the bone.
Slow Cooker Method:
- Place the ribs in the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 4–5 hours.
Once done, let the ribs rest for about 10 minutes.
